9 Or something like that,
10 aWhich doesn't really mean anything,
11 bSo you have to kind of put up with it,
12 cAnd be very very picky about what kind of alcohol you drink before, during, and after your meal.

CHAPTER 93
1 There was another Yank expatriate named dF. Scott Fitzgerald,
2 eWho figured out that Hemingway was absolutely right,
3 But if you didn't see any of World War I, you had to write about something else,
4 fLike what it was like to have lots and lots of money,
5 gAnd fall in love with the wrong woman,
6 hAnd get utterly destroyed,
7 Or something like that,
8 Which means something or other,
9 Unless it doesn't,
10 iBut either way, you're going to need a drink,
11 Because things sure aren't getting any better.

CHAPTER 94
1 There was also a Yank expatriate named jGertrude Stein,
2 Who figured out that the Yanks were basically fools,
3 kWho could be fooled all of the time,
4 So why not do it,
5 As much as possible?

7 That were very much admired by the intellectuals back home,
8 mAnd discovered a bunch of great artists,
9 That were very much admired by the intellectuals back home,
10 And by the intellectuals in Europe,
11 nWho were tired of seeing things the way they looked on the surface,
12 And thought they'd look better in broken little pieces,
13 Which seemed like a more accurate depiction of the world.

CHAPTER 95
1 It took a while for the Yanks back home to realize that the European intellectuals were right,
2 Which they realized all of a sudden,
3 oOn the day the stock market crashed,
4 pAnd smashed the Yank economy into a bunch of broken little pieces,
5 Not to mention the European economy,
6 Which was even worse,
7 If that was possible.
8 qWhen the gloom of the Great Depression settled over America,
9 rA lot of the expatriates came back home,
10 sBecause the Yanks were a lot easier to take without all that naive optimism,
11 tAnd besides, it was a cinch that the depression would nail the coffin lid shut on Prohibition,
12 Because if a Yank can't have any money,
13 uYou can be sure he's not going to stand for being thirsty too.
